SASSA Takes Services to Fernie Neighborhood

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it can be alarmed with regard to the substantial range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office focused on service the area on a regular basis. The service position established for intervention encounters a substantial inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the office website to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to allow the servicing of all buyers and maximize access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
